Bayern Suffer More Attacking Injuries Before Atletico Clash

Bayern Munich have suffered another major injury setback ahead of their Champions League clash with Atlético Madrid.

Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry will both miss the upcoming period after suffering injuries during Bayern's 2–2 Bundesliga draw with Borussia Dortmund. The club has not provided specific return dates for either player.

Saibari was forced off in the 29th minute after colliding with Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel. The Morocco international had to be helped from the pitch and later left the Allianz Arena on crutches.

Bayern later confirmed that Saibari had suffered a torn syndesmosis ligament in his right ankle. He subsequently underwent successful surgery.

Two minutes after Saibari's departure, Bayern suffered another blow.

Gnabry was also forced off and was later diagnosed with a muscular injury to the back of his left thigh. The club did not give a timetable for his return.

Olise Also a Doubt

Bayern's injury problems could become even more serious if Michael Olise is unavailable.

The French winger was substituted late against Dortmund and was seen limping as he left the pitch. Bayern initially provided no detailed diagnosis, while reports indicate that he is facing a race against time to be fit for Tuesday's Champions League match.

Bayern were already without Jamal Musiala and Luis Díaz because of injuries. The absences of Saibari and Gnabry have now further reduced their attacking options, while Olise's availability remains uncertain.

A Difficult Test in Madrid

After dropping two points against Dortmund, Bayern now turn their attention to the Champions League.

They travel to Madrid on Tuesday to face Atlético at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

Bayern will have to cope with a depleted attacking group, but assistant coach Aaron Danks insists the squad still has enough depth to deal with the situation.

The German champions now face a difficult European challenge with several key attacking players unavailable—or potentially unavailable.
