The emotions and realities of the characters portrayed on screen often leave a profound impact on the actors' own lives. Inspired by such an experience, South Indian star Rashmika Mandanna has announced the adoption of 400 impoverished and marginalized families. She arrived at this humanitarian decision while working on her upcoming film, 'Ranabali'.

This film will mark the first time Rashmika appears alongside her husband, Vijay Deverakonda. The actress shared the initiative herself through a video posted on Instagram. The footage shows her team delivering essential food supplies—including rice, lentils, flour, and cooking oil—to the homes of the underprivileged.

Rashmika stated that, for the initial phase, she has taken full responsibility for providing essential food supplies to these 400 families for a period of three months. Her plan involves extending similar support to 400 different families in need every three months over the coming year. She hopes that by saving on food expenses, these families will be able to set aside funds to invest in their children's education or work toward achieving self-reliance.

Although Rashmika typically keeps her charitable endeavors private, she explained why she chose to share this initiative on social media: "I want to stand by people as a way to give back for all the immense love you have shown me. I used to do such work quietly, but now I feel that if my small effort inspires others to extend a helping hand, that would be a significant achievement. Even a single small act of kindness can change someone's life."

Notably, the film 'Ranabali', starring Rashmika and Vijay, is set against the backdrop of the Great Famine that struck South India between 1876 and 1878. Due to the ruthless grain-export policies of the British colonial rulers and a severe drought, millions of people perished from starvation in the Rayalaseema region of what was then Andhra Pradesh. Set against that historical backdrop, the film features Vijay Deverakonda in the role of a revolutionary who stands up to protect the rights of the starving, while Rashmika Mandanna appears on screen as his wife, ‘Jayamma’. This highly anticipated film is set to release in theaters tomorrow, October 16.
