Hasan Mahmud battled Australia’s bowlers for 92 balls before being trapped lbw by Josh Hazlewood for 14. His dismissal ended a 46-run partnership from 170 deliveries. Taijul Islam then added a valuable 17 before departing, leaving Mehidy Hasan Miraz to continue the fight with Taskin Ahmed.

Miraz has led Bangladesh’s charge with the lower order, bringing up a crucial fifty and pushing the team closer to a 200-run lead. He completed his fifty with two runs off Mitchell Starc.
