One change to Luton's starting XI against Leicester; Teden Mengi on the bench
Luton Town has made just one change to their starting lineup ahead of their English League One clash against Leicester City. Izzy Jones comes into the side, replacing Hakeem Odoffin, who is sidelined due to injury. Meanwhile, defender Teden Mengi has returned to the League One squad after a long absence, though he has been named among the substitutes.
This update regarding the team selection by Luton manager Jack Wilshere was reported by the British outlet *Luton Today* ahead of Saturday’s (October 24) home match against Leicester City.
Change to the starting XI due to injury
Wilshere has made only one alteration to the side that secured a 2-1 victory over Barnsley last Tuesday. With center-back Hakeem Odoffin ruled out due to a muscle injury, Izzy Jones will take his place in the defensive line.
Additionally, Harrison Ashby is unavailable for the match due to a groin injury. In his absence, Teden Mengi has returned to the squad—marking his first inclusion in a League One matchday squad since he was named on the bench against Burton in February of last year.
Wilshere shows respect for Leicester
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Luton manager Jack Wilshere described the match as a significant fixture for League One. Both clubs have recently competed in the Premier League and share the experience of suffering consecutive relegations.
Wilshere praised the Leicester squad, noting that while they have made adjustments to their starting lineup and tactics in recent matches, their core philosophy of play remains largely unchanged. The Luton manager also highlighted the performance of Leicester midfielder Lewis Page, noting that the player has caught his eye. ## Starting XIs
