Bayern Munich and Arsenal Draw 2-2 in Champions League Thriller
Bayern Munich and Arsenal played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final. The contest at the Allianz Arena featured attacking football, momentum shifts and late drama, leaving the tie finely balanced ahead of the return leg.
Both sides started aggressively, looking to take control of the match. Arsenal struck first in the 25th minute when Eberechi Eze found the net with a curling finish following an excellent assist from captain Martin Ødegaard.
Bayern responded just 10 minutes later. Harry Kane provided the assist, and Alphonso Davies finished clinically to bring the German side level at 1-1 before half-time.
The intensity continued after the break as both teams pushed for the advantage. Bayern were awarded a penalty in the 61st minute after a foul inside Arsenal’s penalty area. Kane stepped up and converted confidently, putting the hosts 2-1 ahead.
Arsenal refused to give up and continued searching for an equaliser. Their persistence paid off in the 82nd minute when Declan Rice collected a pass from Viktor Gyökeres and fired a superb long-range shot into the net to make it 2-2.
Neither team managed to find a winner in the closing stages. Arsenal therefore left the Allianz Arena with a valuable draw, while Bayern will look to regain the advantage in the second leg as both European heavyweights continue their battle for a place in the semi-finals.
